New Workplace Violence Course Series
Have you ever experienced a moment where you felt unsafe at work? Or asked yourself, “What would I do if someone started shooting at work?” Or queried, “How would I handle a resident with violent intentions who cornered me?” Unfortunately, these questions are asked all too often because incidents of violence in the workplace continue to increase. One’s workspace should be a safe place, however, many employees feel uneasy for a variety of reasons, among them inadequate security measures, lack of a clear response plan and unsecured facilities. Employees experience heightened anxiety when they do not know what to do if they experience an incident of workplace violence.
Conflicts with coworkers or customers, community tours, service calls, and random acts of violence are just some of the risks employees in the multifamily industry face. Learning the warning signs of workplace violence and practical strategies for dealing with these situations enables employees to respond quickly and appropriately if such an event occurs.
In violent situations, every second counts.
Grace Hill’s new Workplace Violence series will help you learn how to recognize the signs of workplace violence and practical strategies for addressing violent situations if they happen. The series is meant for all on-site employees and corporate employees. Each course is only 20 minutes.
Employees will learn how to keep themselves safe when doing things like conducting tours and doing maintenance in residents’ apartment homes. All employees will learn the basics of what to do in an active shooter situation based on the Department of Homeland Security’s Run, Hide, Fight guidance.
