This morning, Grace Hill announced that we are making sexual harassment training free for the industry. Here is the announcement:
In response to the new Department of Justice (DOJ) initiative to combat sexual harassment in housing, Grace Hill has made sexual harassment training available online to the entire multifamily industry for free. Grace Hill is the leading provider of online training in the multifamily industry, providing fair housing and other online training to more than 1400 multifamily companies and over 75 percent of the largest companies.

As part of the risk-reduction services that Grace Hill provides to its clients via Compliance Plus, the company works with a team of lawyers at Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd to constantly monitor compliance-related issues and concerns that impact the industry. Grace Hill has been providing step-by-step guidelines for its clients on how to strengthen their sexual harassment policies in light of the Justice Department’s new initiative. The DOJ initiative is a signal that a strong anti-harassment policy is more important than ever. The DOJ’s Civil Rights Division enforces the Fair Housing Act, which prohibits discrimination in housing on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, familial status, national origin, and disability. Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination prohibited under this law.
Grace Hill is uniquely positioned to make sexual harassment training available for free to the multifamily industry, and we felt it was an important step to take. Helping our clients to create and strengthen their sexual harassment policies helps to prevent costly harassment claims. More importantly, by ensuring that sexual harassment training is available to everyone in the industry, we are helping to ensure that everyone feels safe at work and in their homes.
“Grace Hill’s sexual harassment training courseware is based on the same learning science principles as the rest of our courseware, which results in better outcomes for learners,” Ellen Clark, Director of Assessment for Grace Hill, explained. “Grace Hill’s sexual harassment courses include short learning modules that can be completed in 15 minutes, and allow learners to self-pace as they make their way through the course. The courses provide examples from real life, which makes them more memorable for learners, and quizzes track mastery of learning objectives. Grace Hill uses research-based strategies to facilitate the kind of learning that positively impacts job performance.”
Sexual harassment training is available for free in both English and Spanish language versions. The free sexual harassment courses may be accessed on Visto at gowithvisto.org, a platform that Grace Hill launched with the National Apartment Association Education Institute (NAAEI) to provide property management professionals with easy access to credentials, industry training and continuing education.
Update: Grace Hill made sexual harassment prevention training free for the industry until the end of March 2018.
